LINDSTROM - Dorothy Bonivieve Erickson was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Parola, India. She went to be with her Lord on Oct. 11, 2012, at Fairview Lakes in Wyoming, Minn.

She married Gerald Leon Erickson on Aug. 17, 1957, in Rockford, Ill., and lived in East Chain, Minn., on the family farm. They lived there from 1957 to 1991, when they retired from farming and moved to their retirement home in East Chain, until recently moving to Lindstrom, Minn., in 2001.

She graduated from Paynesville High School in 1949 and Swedish American Nurses training school in Rockford, Ill. She was employed as a nurse at Fairmont Community Hospital until her retirement in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Judith Ribe; and sister, Eleanor Krispin.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Gerald; and four children, Tim (Carole) Erickson of Tomah, Wis., Judy Erickson (Jim Birkholz) of Shafer, Minn., Brad (Maggie) Erickson of Fairmont, Minn., and Rod Erickson of Sandstone, Minn.; five grandchildren, Doug Erickson of Racine, Wis., Angie (Levi) Frost of Tomah, Wis., Joe Birkholz, Amelia Birkholz and Sam Birkholz of Shafer, Minn. Dorothy is also survived by brothers Ken (Sue) Ribe of Minnetonka, Minn., and John (Reta) Ribe of Danforth, Maine.

She was active in the past as a member of the East Chain Evangelical Free Church, serving in children's ministries, as a deaconess, Women's Missionary Society, since 1986 Gideon Auxiliary in Fairmont and St. Croix Valley; Caring Pregnancy Center in Fairmont, Christian Women's Club in Fairmont and St. Croix Valley. She was also active in the Lakes Evangelical Free Church in Lindstrom.

She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She enjoyed baking, reading and traveling.

Visitation will be at Grandstand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minn., on Sunday, Oct. 14. 2012, from 4-7 p.m., and one hour prior to service on Monday. Funeral services will be held at Lakes Free Church in Lindstrom, Minn., on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment will be East Chain Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, followed by a fellowship and lunch at the church.
