    Obituary
Beverly Joyce Wahl, 85 of Lowell went to be with the Lord September 13th 2019 at her home
surrounded by her children. She was born May 30th 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the
daughter of Alfred and Evelyn Bolson. Beverly was a woman who was always concerned about
everyone else’s happiness and welfare instead of her own. She and her husband Earl who
passed in 2010 were married July 19th 1952 and were married almost 58 years at his
passing. She worked as a secretary and administrative assistant in her early career, and
was administrative assistant to the engineers and programmers who developed the first
air traffic control systems in the late 1960s and early 1970s at the Univac corporation in
St. Paul, Minnesota. She and her husband and 3 children relocated to Northwest Arkansas in the fall of 1972 to be close to her parents who retired on Beaver Lake in 1971. She was then an office manager for an insurance agency in Springdale before becoming
administrative assistant to the Director of the Community Development Block Grant Program for the City of Springdale prior to assuming the directors position. During her 25 years working for the city of Springdale she was responsible for the upgrading of both infrastructure and housing for both the elderly and low income citizens of Springdale and always fought for the needs of those less fortunate. After retirement from the city she and Earl both traveled the country visiting friends and wintering in Winter Haven Florida.
After her husband’s Earls passing in 2010 she had open heart surgery and suffered a stroke but in her usual fashion recovered almost completely except for her speech, but that did not slow her down. She spent her subsequent years doing crafting to supply multiple
flea market booths with her devoted daughter Kimberly and creating custom greeting cards for everyone she knew. She loved spending time with her great Grandchildren. She was a member of Hickory Creek Baptist Church and her family appreciates their caring support after
her husbands passing and her subsequent illnesses.

Survivors include her brother Roger Bolson and wife Ruth of Bloomington Minnesota, brother Ronald Bolson and wife Fran of Stevensville Michigan, and sister in law Harriett and husband Jerome of Alexandria Minnesota, son Kevin and wife Lynne, daughter Kimberly and husband Brian, and son Michael and wife Dawn as well as 3 grandchildren Andrea, Tyler Casey and Darrin. Also step grandchildren Channing , Madison, and Hayden and 6 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Wednesday, September 18th from 5-7pm.
Funeral service to be held Thursday, September 19th at Hickory Creek Baptist Church at 3pm.
Family requests memorials in her honor to be sent to the American Heart Association or the
Hickory Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
