Thais Afton Dallimore Zitting returned home peacefully on August 8, 2010 of natural causes.Born September 13, 1919 in Salt Lake City, UT to Clarence James and Minnie Mayme Dallimore. Attended South High and L.D.S. Business College. Married William Affleck Zitting, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1947. Later sealed in the L.D.S. Temple June 6, 2006. Retired from Hercules Inc., 1976. Hospital volunteer at Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City, UT for 35 years. Met regularly with her high school club friends for nearly 70 years, and cherished lunch with her two sisters weekly.
Survived by sons, Brent Wm. (Colleen) Zitting, West Valley City, UT, Randall Lee Zitting, West Valley City, UT; daughter, Sherrie (Michael) Mehl, Alpine, UT; eight grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren; brother, Keith Dallimore; sisters, Diane (Burr) Clayton and Beverly (Kay) Ruggles, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Jack Dallimore.
May her smile, patience and forgiving nature inspire us to be better.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Ridgeland Ward Chapel, 4251 South 4800 West. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
