    • Lyle D. Klinginsmith, 90, of Grand Island, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.

      Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Corp and the Scotia American Legion Post 150.

      Visitation will be an hour prior to service time.

      Lyle was born Oct. 10, 1928, at North Loup, the son of Frank Maxwell and Bessie (Gabaurer) Klinginsmith. He was raised on a farm and graduated from North Loup High School class of 1946. He was united in marriage to Ina Olsen on Jan. 6, 1948. Lyle served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. Following his service, he and Ina farmed south of North Loup, then northwest of Scotia. They later purchased their own farm in the Davis Creek area near Loup City. Later he was employed for several years by the Griswold Seed Co., retiring in 1992.

      He is a member of the American Legion. Lyle enjoyed going to breakfast with friends, playing cards, watching westerns, riding horses camping and fishing.

      Survivors include his wife of nearly 71 years, Ina; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sheila Klinginsmith of Kearney; a grandson and his wife, Nathan and Mindy Klinginsmith; three great-grandchildren, Arielle, Abrielle and Asher; and a sister, Judy Weeks of Aurora.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold.
