    • WILLIAM DAVID BIXLER William David Bixler, 76, Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, October 29, 1998, at St. Joseph Health Care Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 2, at the Park Lawn Chapel; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice.

      Mr. Bixler was born August 5, 1922, in Versailles, MO, and had lived in this area all of his life. He was an electrician for J.H. McKay Electric, and instrumental in the construction of several prominent Kansas City buildings, including The Landing, Crown Center and Halls on the Plaza. He was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 124.

      Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lillie Bixler, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Nona and John Barnes, Raleigh, NC; two granddaughters, Valerie Hendrickson, Raleigh, NC, and Melissa Wheelock, Cary, NC; one great-granddaughter, Karen Hendrickson, Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Pauline Huff, Ogden, UT, and Donna Howard, Leawood, KS; two brothers, Robert Bixler, Leawood, KS, and Harold Bixler, Tucson, AZ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be sadly missed. He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, sense of humor and his compassion for others.
