    • Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Anna Alvina Schutte passed away on August 4, 2006 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland, KS. She was 95 years old.

Anna was born on November 6, 1910 in Howard County, Nebraska to Christina and Louis Olsen, and was the oldest of seven children. Anna moved to Kansas with her family at an early age and later moved to Colorado where she graduated with honors from Burlington High School. Following graduation, she continued her educational career in Greeley, Colorado, by attending the University of Northern Colorado, where she received her teaching degree.

On November 18, 1939, Anna married Hank Schutte and born to this union was a son, Allen Henry Schutte. Anna enjoyed country living on a farm located Northeast of Burlington where she enjoyed being a loving wife and mother. She also proudly served as a faculty member at both the Burlington and Goodland systems where she taught children for over thirty years. On Anna’s 64th birthday, she welcomed a granddaughter Amber Lea Schutte, and later that year she retired from her beloved teaching career. Anna was also a member of the First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the local Rebekah Lodge. Through her retirement Anna enjoyed a slower paced life by gardening, visiting with friends and spending time with her family.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Hank Schutte, two sisters; Clara Allan and Alta Follum, as well as two brothers; Ed Olsen and Marius Olsen.

Anna leaves to mourn, her son Allen Schutte, granddaughter Amber Schutte; two sisters Lillie Pickrel (Joe) and Ina Klinginsmith (Lyle); nephews William Olsen, Frank Olsen, Randy Klinginsmith; nieces Judy Chandler, Debbie Sisung, along with many great nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Schutte were held on Monday, August 7, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington with Pastor Roger Milheim officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 6, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
