3670 | Burkinshaw, Bret Dustin was born April 30, 1970 in Portland, Oregon. He was the son of Gail and Lenna Burkinshaw and the older brother to Aimee, Ryan, and Brandon. Bret graduated from Mtn. View High School in 1988 and was an excellent student. He went on to attend BYU and graduated with a degree in accounting and also obtained his CPA. He held the rank of Eagle Scout and served an honorable two year mission for his church. Bret married Mary Huish on March 31, 1995. They shared 3 beautiful daughters, Macy, age 15, Marley, age 12, and Maddie, age 10. Bret was always a loving, caring and devoted father and a great support to everyone around him. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend, and father. There will be a viewing Sunday evening March 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1483 N. Driftwood, Gilbert, AZ 85234. The Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11 a.m., with a final viewing at 10 a.m. Bret will be laid to rest at Mt. View Cemetery located at 7900 E. 3694 | Caribou County Sun dated June 5, 1986 Helen Matthews, Soda Springs - Helen Zitting Matthews, 66, Soda Springs, died Friday evening as the result of an auto accident on Highway 75 near Stanley. She was born June 28, 1919 in Idaho Falls, to Charles John and Ellen Sophronia Phllips Zitting. She was raised and educated in the Idaho falls area and moved to Soda Springs in 1941 where she had since resided. She married Arthur Jay Moyer March 24, 1934 in Idaho Falls. He died Jan 12 1937. She married Stanley Eugene Matthews Jan 5, 1942 in Huma, La. He died May 29, 1984. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. She was a member of the Soda Springs Golf Club, serving as historian for many years; member and past president of the golf club ladies' auxiliary; and a member of the bridge club. She enjoyed golf, quilting, sewing, bridge and especially entertaining many friends and relatives. She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Moyer, McCammon; Stanley E. Matthews II, Soda Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Alyce Franzen, Fremont, calif; Mrs. Harold (Darla) Roberts, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dave (Cindy) Trimble, Kansas City, MO.; 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; one brother, Harry Zitting, Ogden, Utah; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Nelda) Hill, Ashton. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Delores and JoAnne Beck; five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kenneth Jackson of the Southern Baptist Church officiating. Stanley Matthews Stanley Eugene Matthews, 89, Soda Springs businessman and resident, died Tuesday, May 30, 1984, at his home following a long illness. He was born May 22, 1895 in St. Francis, Kansas, to Guy E. and Alice Irish Matthews. He married Fern Bullock March 31, 1917 in American Falls. She died in 1940. He married Helen Zitting Jan. 5, 1942 in Huma, Louisianna. He was raised and educated in Boise and also attended Links College of Business in Boise. He lived in American Falls for a short time, moving to Soda Springs in 1919 where he had since resided. In June, 1914, he was the private secretary to D.W. Davis, who later became governor of Idaho. He worked for First National Bank of American Falls, Brown and Moench in American Falls, and was a partnership with A.W. Kerr. In Soda Springs he went into his own business and S.E. Matthews Financial Agency and was also in the newspaper business for three years. He served as mayor of Soda Springs for 17 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Soda Springs Masonic Lodge with a membership of 62 years. He was a Shriner for 62 years as a member of the Scottish Rites Valley of Pocatello and of Elkorah Temple of Boise. Survivors include his wife, Soda Springs; two sons, Robert Matthews, McCammon; Stanley E. Matthews II, Soda Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Alyuce Franzen, Fremont, Calif.; Mrs. Darla Lowder, Salt Lake City; Mrs. David (Cindy) Trimble, Kansas City, Mo.; 24 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Earl C. Matthews, Dale Matthews and Mrs. Ed (Lucille) Gould, all of Boise. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Joanne Beck, and two brothers, Newton and Guy. 3697 | Carlene Hatch Fountain Green, UT On May 19, 2017, our family lost our sweet wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, Carlene Rae Anderson Hatch. Carlene was born December 6, 1950 to Elmer Eugene and Elinor Lavonne Yates Anderson. She married the love of her life, Donald Hatch on June 3, 1967 in Taylorsville, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on November 10, 2010. She missed her 50th wedding anniversary by 2 weeks, but had a great 51 years together. Carlene had a great love for her animals and they loved her. She loved to keep a clean house where dirt was afraid to enter. Her passion for decorating was most at Christmas and Halloween, where she won many awards for her light displays. She loved to collect dolls, which she had a huge collection of. Don/Dad said her collection not only broke his back, but broke his bank account. Carlene loved her rock music and going to concerts whenever she could. One of her favorite accomplishments was being able to work as a safety engineer on the racecar pitcrew. She is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Shelly (Lloyd) Arnold, of Fountain Green and Wendy Hatch, of West Valley; siblings, Marcy Kelson, Brett (Gerrill) Anderson, Rennie (Mindy) Anderson and Cory Anderson. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fountain Green 1st Ward Chapel. Viewings will be held at the church on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to services from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Fountain Green Cemetery.
