3820 | Debra Colleen Bateman, age 63, died peacefully after a short time with cancer on July 17, 2017 in Ogden, Utah. Debbie is survived by her brothers; John Morgan Bateman (Gayle) of Highland, UT, Robert Lee Bateman of Ogden, Utah, and her sister Jill Bateman Dunn (Joel) of Tooele, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Tina Diane Glass (Lou), of Ogden, UT. Debbie was born on November 24, 1953 in Ogden to parents Horald Morgan and Afton Bingham Bateman. She never married. Debbie participated in music and art, enjoyed painting. She graduated from Ogden High School. She worked a short time at a few businesses, but had to deal with epilepsy for most of her adult life. She was limited in life, but maintained a good attitude and remained faithful in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT on Saturday, July 22, from 9:45 to 10:45am followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am for all family and friends. 3825 | Delores Lenz of Ashton Delores Jean Lenz, 63, of Ashton, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Boise of natural causes. She was born Sept. 29, 1943, in Idaho Falls, to Ralph A. and Nelda Zitting Hill. She attended schoool in Lamont and Ashton. She married Harold “Hersh” Lenz on Nov. 8, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashton. They lived and farmed east of Ashton. She also helped run the family business in Ashton. They had three children. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Anthony. She was a member of the American Dog Derby Committee. She also took an active role in helping with her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping with her family, yard work, shopping, cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Harold, of Ashton; children, Stacey (Bill) Steele and Bryan (Brooke) Lenz of Ashton, Deanna Lenz (Will) Hampton of Boise; her mother, Nelda Hill of Kuna; siblings, Marvin (Brucene) Hill of Ashton, Steve (Marsha) Hill and Kalle Matsuyama of Nampa; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Hill. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Methodist Church in Ashton, with Pastors Bruce and Reba Kolasch officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street, in Ashton, and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. We pray that now our humble hero can see himself as we see him: faithful, loving, kind, articulate, giving, charitable, powerful, and pure! Dennis was born in Tooele, UT Nov 6, 1944 to Guy E. Seals and Lois Winterrose. Married Ramona Alene Jensen April 3, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dennis served an LDS Mission in the South Brazilian Mission. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1969. Dennis served faithfully and well in his many church callings including bishop, bishop's counselors, high council, and teacher. Dennis is survived by his wife; daughters, Heather (Jason Christensen), Holly; sons, Mark (Rachelle), Spencer; one granddaughter, Tessa; mother, Lois Seals; brothers and sister. 3836 | Desdemona Ruth Gleason passed away on Monday March 26, 2012. Ruth was born on October 4, 1924 in Garland, Utah, to George and Myrtle Jensen Gleason. Ruth married Dale Leroy Warburton on Feburary 3, 1951- Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 10, 1969. Ruth is survived by her three sons, Dale Bradford (Debbie), Michael Gleason (Carole), Lawrence "Larry" D. Warburton (Barbara), and daughter Laura Warburton Folkman. Ruth was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by one brother, Keller Alvirus Gleason and his wife Miweeze, three brothers-in-law, Lawrence Fred Culver (Phyllis), Robert Valentine (Barbara), and James Sheridan (Dorothy Warburton), two sisters-in-law, Barbara Marshall Warburton (Gerald), Carol Holmes Warburton (Robert), and many loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was raised and spent the majority of her childhood in Garland, Utah. Ruth excelled in her education. After attending Bear River High School she went on to Utah State University before going on to graduate from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in English and History. She later mastered in Education. Immediately following her marriage to Dale, Ruth joined him in Grouse Creek where they started a family, which was to become three boys and one girl. Ruth spent the majority of her adult life teaching elementary school, starting out in the Lucin, Utah school. The family then moved back to Garland where Ruth spent the rest of her teaching career at Garland Elementary until her retirement. As Ruth would say, "My greatest accomplishment in life is my kids" and "I don't think there's any time in your life you should stop learning something or other." Viewings for Ruth will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 from 6-8pm at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.) as well as from 10:30-11:30am prior to the funeral at the LDS Tremonton West Stake Center (345 S. 1000 W.). Norm was born November 14, 1929 in Trowbridge Township, and had been a resident of Allegan most of his life.He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Norma (Emmons) Grigsby; his sister, Geraldine (Grigsby) DeHaan, and his sister-in-law; Joanne Grigsby. Norm spent his life in many businesses: Milk delivery, fuel oil delivery, heating and cooling, antique store, and a basket making supply business. He retired in 2004 and he and Esther enjoyed winters in Florida. Norm is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther (Pedersen) Grigsby; his daughters, Cris (Bill Cronen) Green, Jill Woods, and Holly (Tim) Norman; his sons, Nick (Connie) Grigsby and Kurt (Kathie) Grigsby; his grandchildren, Joe Green of Arizona, Scott (Crystal) Woods and Dan Woods of Kalamazoo, Rita (Kyle) Gleason of Allegan, Cassie (Bryan) Simpson of Kalamazoo, Maureen Shagonaby of Lansing, Codie (Nora) Grigsby of Wyoming, MI, Abbey Norman (Mike Janes) of Alaska, and Nathan Norman of Portage; a great- granddaughter, Carlyn Simpson; his brother, Dale Grigsby of Columbia City, IN; his brother-in-law, George DeHaan of Allegan; his sister-in-law, Viola Onken; and his brother-in-law, Herm (Eva) Pedersen; and many nieces and nephews. At Norm's request cremation has taken place.
