Bisættelsen finder sted fra Tranbjerg Kirke fredag den 6. december kl. 13.30. ---------------------- 1996-12-07: Omtale i forbindelse med dødsfald - JP? 1996-12-07: Omtale i forbindelse med dødsfald - ÅS AVISUDKLIP: Fhv. smedemester Arthur Abrahamsen, Kirkevænget 57, Tranbjerg, er død, 60 år. Arthur Abrahamsen var født i Århus og blev udlært i familiens virksomhed, Århus Vægtfabrik, hvor han arbejdede i en længere årrække. I 1973 startede han Århus Special Vægtfabrik i Hasselager, som han drev med stor flid og dygtighed, og hvor han udviklede mange nyskabelser indenfor vægtbranchen. Arthur Abrahamsen var en højt værdsat kollega og meget vellidt kammerat i sejlklubben, hvor han gerne hjalp til med planlægning og fremstilling af brochurer. Arthur Abrahamsen var medlem af Aarhus Smedelaug og deltog, ligetil det sidste, aktivt i forskellige aktiviteter der. Han efterlader sig hustruen Bentha, to børn og tre børnebørn. ------------------ AVISUDKLIP: Følgende mindeord om Arthur Abrahamsen er tilsendt avisen på vegne af Århus Smedelaug, fra oldermand Max Gønget: I slutningen af 80’eme blev vor gode ven og kollega, forhenværende smedemester Arthur Abrahamsen, ramt af sygdom, som gjorde det nødvendigt for ham at afhænde sin virksomhed, Århus Special Vægtfabrik i Hasselager. Men selv om sygdom bandt ham til en kørestol, kunne den ikke knægte hans altid ukuelige virketrang. Han nægtede, lige til det sidste, at der skulle være noget som helst han ikke kunne, bortset fra at gå. Efter en amputation af det andet ben satte han sig som mål at kunne køre bil igen, og som med så meget andet, nåede han også dette mål. Arthur Abrahamsen havde mange gøremål. Han passede sit arbejde som konstruktør hos Ingv. Michelsen A/S. Han lærte sig at sejle, og sejlklubben nød godt af hans store kreativitet. Han var medlem af Aarhus Smedelaug og havde været det siden 1975. Her deltog han livligt i laugets faglige og selskabelige aktiviteter, lige til det sidste. Overalt var han værdsat som en god kollega, et varmt og humoristisk menneske med et stort livsmod. Han gjorde det let for vi andre, at lære at omgås mennesker med et alvorligt handicap. Han kunne, på trods af sine amputerede ben, godt finde på at klage over, at det var lidt fodkoldt. Denne form for humor kom altid til udtryk med et særligt lunt glimt i øjet. 3858 | Donald Vork, 71, of Holland, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in Bradenton, Fla. He was a member of Harderwyk Christian Reformed Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was employed for 46 years at Hart & Cooley prior to retirement. He was a board member of Holland Central Credit Union and a member of the F.O.P. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, in 1991. Surviving are his wife, Carole; daughters, Kimberly and John De Camp of Zeeland, and Lynn and Philip Kennedy of Kansas City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, John and Donna Kluck of Fennville, Charlene and Dan Heavilin of Fennville, and Patricia and Tom Carey of Grand Haven; five stepgrandchildren; sister, Lucille Lankheet of Wyoming; mother-in-law, Viola Onken of Fennville and Bradenton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Richard Jr. and Anna May Onken, Mrs. LaVerne (Rosalie) Onken, Phyllis and Larry Babinski, Anne Marie and James Hibma, Jim and Jean Kempema, Don and Carole Kempema, Mrs. Ken (Kathy) Kempema, James and Marlys Keatley, Robert and Macky Johnson, and David and LuAnn Kempema. A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Harderwyk Christian Reformed Church, 1627 W. Lakewood Blvd., with the Rev. Paul Brink officiating. A private graveside service is in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. 3859 | Donald Zitting Jr., 69, died Thursday evening, Nov. 2, 2006, in St. Peter's Hospital in Helena. He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Donald Zitting Sr. and Eugenia L. (Henderson) Zitting. Donald received his education in Butte and later attended college in Ogden, Utah. He was employed as a miner in Butte and later a police officer, detective and an associate chemist in Utah. He was married to Patsy Howze Zitting; they later divorced. He was also married to Nita Zitting; they also later divorced. Surviving relatives include his children, Sherril Sternhagen, Arrene Zitting; granddaughter, Amy Sternhagen; brothers, Kenneth and Arthur Zitting; sisters, Betty Zitting and Carol (Zitting) Thompson, all of Butte; stepchildren, Monty, Robbie, and Danielle; nieces and nephews, Jamey Thompson, Charlie Thompson, Chrissy (Thompson) Reighard and her husband, Jermey Reighard, Elizabeth and Laura Zitting, Kaylie and Kelsie Reighard, Bryce Thompson, and Michael and Anna Thompson. She was born Dec. 29, 1926 in Etna, Box Elder County, Utah to Delbert DeWitt and Florence Shepherd Warburton. She married James A. Sheridan on June 12, 1948 in Almo. He survives. She is also survived by three children, Sherry (Michael) Spencer of Yost, Utah, Cordell (Patty) Sheridan of Almo and Marlon (Shiobhan) Sheridan of Sugar Hill, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Warburton and Barbara Warburton both of Tremonton, Utah, and Carol Warburton of Grantsville, Utah. He was born February 25, 1978 in West Valley City, Utah to Brent William Zitting and Colleen Hansen Zitting. He attended West Jordan High School and graduated from Salt Lake Community College with a Nursing Degree, he loved being a nurse. He was very loving, loyal, big hearted, Funny, a joker, and he loved watching and participating in all sports. He is survived by his parents, Brent and Colleen; siblings, Darrell Zitting (Tracy), Debbie Zitting, DeeAnn Lopez-Jones (Jeff), David Zitting (Angie); nieces and nephews, Daryllin, Ryllee, Alexis, Brittany, Brandon, Christopher (mini me), Kayleen, Joseph, Faith, Titus, Mason, Ciena, and Tadum; and his dogs, Buddy and Dexter. Preceded in death by his grandparents and two aunts. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ridgeland Ward House, 4251 South 4800 West, West Valley City, Utah.
