Notater - (Research):SOUTH BELOIT -- Gladys E. Makinen, 83, of South Beloit went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, in Beloit (Wis.) Memorial Hospital. She was born April 10, 1921, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Bror Lundberg and Ragna Skoog Lundberg. She had been a South Beloit resident since 1952. Gladys married Nestor Makinen March 7, 1947, in Minneapolis; he died Nov. 21, 1998. She is survived by daughters, Janice Makinen-Egbert of Beloit and Bonnie (Murry) Page of Machesney Park; sons, Gerald (Bobbi) Makinen of Rockton, Robert Paul Makinen of South Beloit and Daniel (Maria) Makinen of Beloit; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister and three brothers.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct 28, in People's Church in Beloit, with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit. Memorials may be made to People's Church. Arrangements by Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Funeral Home, 1125 Cranston Road, Beloit.
