Notater - Orpha “Sheree” Stokes Zitting Balmforth Grant, age 77, passed away peacefully in her home in West Valley, Utah. She was born September 17, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Charles Fredrick Zitting and Essie Frances Stokes. She was raised in a large family with several mothers whom she loved dearly. She was married at a young age and had her first baby, Stephen Glenn. He passed away on Christmas morning at 3 months old. She was heartbroken from this loss and really never recovered. As a single mom, she raised six children and was very proud of the home she purchased in West Valley City. She always had a huge heart and was willing to give anything she had. Her means were never abundant, but she always did the very best she could. She went on to raise her six children whom she loved. She met and married George Loyal “Short” Grant, her one true love and they have been together for over 40 years. He has been by her side and taken such good, loving care of her. We are heartbroken for our loss, but we know she is with her sweet baby boy and her parents and siblings, having a great reunion. She loved to spend time in her garden and always shared her abundance with others. She also loved to collect recipes and was a very good cook. She is survived by her husband, “Short”. Her children, Lee and Cindy Balmforth; Troy Balmforth; Donna and Steve Drown; Lezlee and Allen Krueger; Loni Balmforth and Lori and Joe Adams. 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Several brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her baby boy Stephen. The family is grateful for all the love and concern shown during this hard time and we appreciate all those who were there for our wife and mother.
Memorial services will be held, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at noon, with a viewing prior to the services at 11:00 am. The LDS Bernina Ward Chapel, 3045 W. Bernina Drive. Internment will be at Valley View Cemetery.
