Kaplan Memorial Scholarship Fund . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $8,987 (1997) Donald Kaplan, an engineer and long-time Waterbury resident, created a scholarship fund in memory of his wife Ruth Agnes Kaplan. The income from the fund provides a scholarship to a young woman who is working toward a degree in the field of healthcare. (Scholarship) Annual awards for female, residents of Cheshire, Naugatuck, Prospect, Waterbury, or Woodbury, Connecticut (minimum of four years) who are incoming freshmen or reapplicants attending a college/university in New England, New York, or Israel. Students must be majoring in a Health field and a minimum of two years of a foreign launguage must be included in students major. Selection based on academic achievement and financial need. Number of awards may vary. Nonrenewable.
