Notater - (Research):Verda LaVer Jensen Nielsen 1917-2009 Midway-LaVer Nielsen, age 92, passed away, November 12, 2009, at her daughters home in Salt Lake City. Born July 1, 1917 to Edith Osborn and Calvin C. Jensen in Ferron, Utah. Married Ivan Nielsen Oct. 3, 1936, later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Mom was a special person and a hard worker. She always had a beautiful garden. She sewed many clothes and dance costumes for her four daughters when they were growing up. She made over 100 beautiful quilts, many table cloths, and she made the best pies ever. She served in various positions in the church. She loved the babies, her 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grands and two great-great-grands. Mom was a very caring and a charitable person. She worked at Ferron Merc., and The Post Office for years. Throughout her life she lived in Clawson, Ferron, Mapleton, and Midway. Survived by her daughters, Helen Griswold, Ronda (Ray) Hult, Susan (Jim) Young, Rebecca (Marv) Johnson and sister Kenna Prestwich; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers Max, Don, and Coy; one grandson, Jeff. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009, 11:00 am, at the Midway 1st Ward, 250 East 200 South, Midway, UT. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church, and Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main, Heber City, UT.
