Notater - Our loving husband, father, son, and brother passed away August 12, 1998 at the age of 44 after a long battle with kidney failure, Adult Respiratory Distress and finally heart failure. He fought to the end with everything he had.
He was born February 20, 1954 to Lewis W. and Helen Hunt Woods of Salt Lake City. He married his loving wife, Roxann Walton, September 6, 1986. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had four loving children, Eric, 11; Crystal, eight; Steven, six; and Jessica, three; all of whom he loved dearly. He loved to go fishing with the kids and collect rocks, stamps, baseball cards and old church money. He enjoyed watching the kids play in the back yard in good weather and was always there with a camera shot. He and his wife had a special bond that nobody could break, they knew what each other was going to say or how they felt about things before they even said or asked it.
He worked at Deseret Industries as a supervisor for six years and met his sweetheart there. He also worked at BYU Salt Lake Center for four years and had to retire because of health problems. He spent the last six years with his children and his wife.
Survivors include his wife and children; parents, Lewis W. and Helen Woods; brother, Buzz (Anne); D.J. (Heather), all of Salt Lake City; Chip (Lynette) Woods, of California; older sister, Darla (Keith) Abreu, of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his best friend, his dog, ASOB.
The family would like to thank Dr. Donald L. Wilhelm, Jim Rossetti, ICU Nurses at Cottonwood Hospital and Central Valley Dialysis for everything they have done the last six years.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 15, 1998 at 12 noon in the Taylorsville 35th LDS Ward, 4505 So. 3420 W. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service, all at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
