Notater - Ivan James Carlisle 1931 ~ 2006 RICHFIELD, UTAH - Ivan James Carlisle, age 75 passed away peacefully at his home in Richfield, Utah on December 17, 2006. He was born on November 15, 1931 in Payson, Utah to Charles L. and Margaret B. Carlisle. He grew up with his four brothers and five sisters on the family dairy farm. He married Maxine Gillman of Lindon on June 6, 1956 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they have four children, Michelle, Gary, Julie, and Jeanne. Ivan graduated from Payson High School and LDS seminary in 1950. He served a mission in the Southern States between 1951-1953. He then served two years in the United States Army in Korea. In 1985 he graduated from BYU with a BS in business, later earning a degree in education. He farmed and taught school in the Tintic School District for many years. He moved his family to Minnesota where he farmed and raised dairy cattle. After retiring, Ivan and Maxine returned to Utah and settled in Richfield. His church service includes Elder's Quorum President, Executive Secretary, High Priest Group Leader, Branch President, Temple worker in the Hawaii and Manti Temples. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, daughter, Michelle Swift of Midvale, UT; son, Gary (Susan) Carlisle of Redmond, UT; daughters, Julie (Chad) Atkinson of Payson, UT; and Jeanne (Marc) Isom of Blackfoot, Idaho; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sisters, Margaret Wilson, Helen Black, Ila Peterson, Lois Moore, brothers, Grant and David Carlisle, in-laws Diane and Nancy Carlisle and Gerald Finch. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Joanne Finch, brothers Gerald and Elmo Carlisle, grandson, Justin James Isom, and granddaughter in-law, Theressa Bosshardt. Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 22, at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 10:00 to 12:30 at the Richfield LDS Stake Center, 805 N. 500 E. in Richfield, Utah. Interment will be in the Redmond City Cemetery under the direction of Magleby Funeral Home.
