Notater - Stuart Franklin Eriksen, 85, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at his home in Bedford. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Stuart was born January 17, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Gustav Adolf and Ida Christine Eriksen. He moved to Graham at the age of 4. Stuart served during World War II on the USS Grafton from 1944 to 1946 when honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He returned to Graham to find his one true love Thelma Christine McLaren and marry on November 1, 1947. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2010. Stuart joined the Texas Highway Patrol where he proudly served for 34 years until his retirement in 1989.
Survivors include; son, Scott Eriksen and wife Veronica of Bedford; grandsons, Joey Eriksen of Bedford and Lee Anthony and wife Joanna Soto of North Richland Hills; great grandchildren, Carolina, Myla, Lee Anthony, Jr., Christian and Elena; brother, Gordon Eriksen of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Stuart (Pops) was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Eriksen Maples.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
